The Staros® brand, created in 1999, specialises in the design and manufacturing of products for wine-growing. Its products are exclusively commercialised within the Soufflet Vigne network.
With the Staros® post concept, patented in 2000, the materials used can be recycled, allowing wine-growers to adopt a sustainable development approach.
The Staros® solutions are designed to save time for wine-growers
The Staros® Product Range:
- 1/ Staros® posts
- 2/ Staros® stem protection sleeves
- 3/ Staros® staples
Staros® posts are manufactured using high density polyethylene coming from the selective collection of household waste (mainly milk bottles).
- No decay, no maintenance
- No contamination risk, chemically inert
- Rot-proof, rigid, and shock-proof
- Ideally used with synthetic fibre
With its cross-shaped profile it is the optimal trade-off between raw material savings and technical constraints (inertia, flexion-resistance, rotation effect, ground stability).
Its low weight saves energy when handling it (weight per linear meter: 1.9kg).
They are in an inverted L-shape. The first notch is 95cm from the post’s base and the remaining notches are spaced out every 10cm. The post is cross-shaped 40mm from the base so as to prevent it from turning during its installation keeping it properly lined up with the rest of the vine row.
Available length: from 1.40m to 1.70m
Staros® protection sleeves are made of polypropylene with growth effect. This protection, composed of an alveolar double-walled tube, is designed to be slightly driven into the ground. It is then maintained by an iron or bamboo rod placed in dedicated notches.
Life-span: about 2 to 3 years
Packaging: 10 protection sleeves/package - Flat-packed
Dimensions: Diameter 90mm- Height 40cm
Staros® staples are degradable. They are made of GMO-free food-grade plastics
- No corrosion
- Do not tangle
- Do not damage fingers
- Do not deteriorate wine-making equipment
- Preserve the quality of wine
