Soufflet Atlantique, Soufflet Agriculture’s subsidiary in western France has just taken over Etablissements Auguier, a family business based at Messemé in the department of Vienne, specialising in buying cereals and retailing farm supplies.
Etablissements Auguier buys 45,000 tonnes of cereals and oilseeds, and has sales of 11 million euros. Founded in 1972, the company now employs nine people and, at its two sites at Ternay and Messemé, has 26,000 tonnes storage capacity.
Fitting in perfectly with the Agriculture Division’s existing sites geographically, the acquisition will:
- enable Soufflet Agriculture and its subsidiary Soufflet Atlantique to expand in Vienne,
- provide Grands Moulins d’Ozon, located at Châtellerault (40 kilometres away), with a new source of wheat,
- help to expand SOCOMAC’s port silo business at La Pallice,
- enable farmers in Vienne to benefit even more in the future from a private alternative, giving them a choice on the market, and a choice of new marketing and added value solutions for their production, through the particularly innovative contracts and outlets that the Soufflet Group offers.
